FAQ

How long does treatment take?

Treatment time depends on the complexity of your case, but many patients complete aligner therapy in 6 to 18 months. During your free scan and evaluation, our orthodontist will give you a more precise estimate.

Am I a candidate if I had braces before?

Most teens and adults with healthy gums and teeth are good candidates. Even if you’ve had previous orthodontic work or crowns, aligners may still be effective. We’ll assess your smile during the scan to determine suitability.

Will I need attachments or auxiliaries?

Possibly. Attachments (small, tooth-colored bumps) may be applied to some teeth to help the aligners grip and achieve precise movement. Not every patient needs them; your orthodontist determines this in your plan.

How often will I change aligners, and how frequently are check-ups?

You typically switch to a new aligner set every 1–2 weeks (as prescribed). Check-ins are scheduled every 6–8 weeks, and many of these visits can be virtual (photo or video) if your case permits.

What if I lose or damage an aligner tray?

Contact us immediately. In many cases, you’ll move to the next tray early or we’ll order a replacement. Always keep your previous tray to help prevent shifting.

Will my insurance cover clear aligners?

If your dental plan includes orthodontic benefits, we’ll submit claims on your behalf. Bring your insurance info to the consult, and we’ll present you with an estimate. If your plan doesn’t cover it, we offer flexible financing and payment plans.

What happens after aligner treatment?

Once treatment is done, you’ll receive custom retainers designed to maintain your results. Initially, you’ll wear them full-time, then gradually shift to nighttime wear. Periodic check-ups ensure your smile stays stable.

What if aligners aren’t enough for my specific case?

If we determine your case is beyond what aligners can safely and predictably correct, we’ll inform you upfront and present alternative orthodontic options—sometimes at reduced or pro-rated pricing.

Is the aligner process safe and comfortable?

Yes. The process is supervised by a licensed orthodontist, and your teeth move gradually. Some minor discomfort or pressure is normal during changes. You’ll also receive care instructions and emergency support.
